1.3. Corporate social responsibility
The term “corporate social responsibility” expresses a set of actions that companies take in the context of addressing social and environmental issues. It is part of the philosophy of ethical behavior of companies, especially in relation to the society in which they operate. Like other concepts, corporate social responsibility is approached from different definitions, in which we can identify different orientations that move around sustainable development, the voluntary nature of corporate social responsibility and development at the social, environmental and economic level.

Implementation of a public information program on the public benefit work performed by DEYAM for the planning of future projects and actions. Provision of special low-cost invoices to socially, vulnerable groups, such as the disabled, the needy and families with three or more children, as well as the arrangement of favorable arrangements for the repayment of exorbitant bills.
Creating water awareness of consumers and their participation in the effort of rational management of water demand Drafting a “Charter of Consumer Rights – Obligations”
Contribution of consumers through the completion of questionnaires in the optimization of the services provided by DEYAM. Absolute transparency in the operation of the company, with sufficient and complete information about its action.
2. Vision
From all the above, the result is that the future of DEYAM based on the current trends and perspectives of the water supply-sewerage sector, goes through its strengthening and enlargement, but also from the provision of new products and services, so that DEYAM continues to look to the future, with perspective. The increase of DEYAM, due to “Kallikratis act”, in combination with the expansion of its competence and its object, will offer to DEYAM greater economic power and therefore greater potential and safer prospects.
At the same time we must not forget that the request of society as a whole, is to provide clean and healthy water at the lowest possible cost, where through the restructuring of DEYAM, we will lead to a continuous effort to upgrade and modernize our services with basic elements prevailing, respect to humans and the environment. We must not miss the fact that the relationship between citizen – business, but also administration – employees must be a two – way relationship to achieve common goals.
Having in mind the contribution to society, the economy and the environment, we will try to contribute to the new well-to-do Municipality of Messina in sustainability, in the protection of public health, in the excellent water quality, which presuppose a sustainable water policy that meets the modern needs of both business , as well as citizens.
Our goal is to manage water demand instead of adjusting supply to water demand each time, which is an environmental impasse and economically damaging. We will continue to try every day to anticipate the needs of our citizens and solve problems by following creation and perspective for the future. We choose to manage the system without fear, but with vision and method.
Finally, it must be understood, that change should not be intimidating but should be an opportunity to achieve the unique goal of sustainability and excellent water quality, which presupposes a sustainable water policy, that meets the modern needs of both the company, as well as the citizens. In the direction of those analyzed, we ask for the help of all, for the preservation of water, the protection of the health of the citizens and the environment.

When one looks at the Earth from space, it looks like a blue and white planet, which has the colors of the ocean and the cloud, the colors of the water.
The clouds are angry, traveling or withdrawing silently, ethereally, loaded with the future rains that will break out on broken mirrors. They are in tune with the huge breath of the oceans and lakes, with the slow creaking of the ice, with the breath of the wandering icebergs, with the cold indifference of the crystal clear waters, flowing in the veins and caves of the open earth, with that bounce off the stone to be filled with light, with the turbulence of the torrents that pierce the granites, with the waterfalls that resound like drums, with the slow-flowing rivers that carry rays – shiny topazes, with the relentless rise of the juice to the and with billions of heartbeats.
Water is the universal raw material that forms and animates everything on earth ‘Inaccessible, ambiguous, ubiquitous, necessary and permanent, in primitive forms, it follows – from the pre-eternal night of time – an unchanging cycle, which unfolds its transparency and transformation, its transformation and subtlety
In it’s endless space, it roses and swept empires, gave birth to jellyfish and raised huge trees.
Humans and all living things, are children of water. And that is their most valuable asset and heritage.
