1950
The water supply needs of the city until the early 1950s were met by fountains – wells. The fountains in Bezesthenia and the imposing lion against the OSE are well known.
In the 1990s, the internal water supply network of Messina was replaced, the urban sewage network of the city of Messina was completed (started in 1985) and its connection with the Bio.KA of Kalamata and important rainwater management projects were carried out.

The Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company of Messina (DEYAM) was established with the sub-no. 44 / 10-3-1998 F.E.K. Issue First and as its area of responsibility was the city of Messina.
